Dark Skies, an astronomers dream come true

The surrounding areas of Morden & Winkler, the RM of Stanley, offers some of the darkest skies in the province that is within easy driving distance.  Spending time away from the bright lights of the cities gives you a whole new appreciation for the night sky.  The summer offers amazing views of the Milky Way, while winter brings out eye popping sights such as Orion The Hunter and the Orion Nebula (M42).   I personally feel so fortunate to live in the area, but I would urge anyone to take the drive on a clear night, bring a warm blanket and spend a few hours laying on the grass and just watching the magic of the night sky unfold before your eyes
